The Future of SharePoint Development

Speaker: Radi Atanassov

Date: 19/01/2017

SharePoint is a product that has survived entire waves of technological change. Just as the product itself has evolved, the architectural paradigms we use to build solutions continuously change. If we are to become “architects” in a SharePoint ecosystem, we have to understand much more than the galaxy of SharePoint itself. Development on SharePoint, and the SharePoint industry itself, is now different from what it used to be. Where is it going? What is happening to Workflow? InfoPath?

Come join me as I share tales of product strategy, the public roadmap and where you should be focusing if this is your thing. I will demonstrate several things:
- development tactics for client-side applications, for both On-premises and Online
- .NET Core, ASP.NET Core and the SharePoint Development story
- the new SharePoint Framework (SPFx) and how it allows you to use modern client-side libraries to build applications
-“modern” sites and pages, and how and why to host client-side web parts in them, and what this means for us

Be prepared for lots of discussions, bad jokes and stories from the trenches. I expect this session to be 1.5 hours and be appealing to developers and architects, and all sys-admin/ITPro friends too.. I have lots of presents (dev.office.com hoodie L size, dev.office.com portable battery, SharePoint/Office 365 stickets, PnP stickers, and free hugs) and we will have beers and bits for afterwords. The talk will be in Bulgarian unless our foreign friends come over, then it will be in English..
